Annette B. Isaac

Annette Bernice Isaac, daughter of the late Woodrow and Doris Bernice Isaac was born on April 9, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. She shared more than forty years with a special friend Raymond Herring. Annette was the first of twelve children born to Doris and Woodrow. Brenda and Jerry preceded her in death. Annette promptly made her transition from this life after a long battle with Chronic Renal Failure. Having watched her mother endure this same illness, Annette was very knowledgeable on kidney or renal failure. Annette was seldom without a job. Her first job was a cashier at Reads Drug Store. Later she worked for years at Penn Optical Vision Care. Annette’s last job was at the State Office Building where she retired a few years ago from being an Agency Procurement Specialist–Lead. She would often times tell us stories of how she would instruct workers at the dialysis center on how much fluid to pull and when to take her off of the machine. She knew her body and the characteristics of her illness so well, that it gave her the insight to be able to alert the dialysis team of when she was slipping into a dangerous situation. Throughout Annette’s life her family often told her that she missed her calling. She should have been a doctor. Many times she had diagnosed us, and cured us with medicinal or doctor prescribed medicines. Annette was a loving, caring and sharing soul. She would help anyone whether she knew you or not. When you went to her house it did not matter how little food she may have had that day, she would make sure to stretch that meal so that everyone could eat. Annette also had a no nonsense side to her. It took a lot to anger her, but when you did, she would give you a look, that said, get away from me before I let you have it. And believe me, she meant it. (smile) Annette leaves to cherish her beloved memory: three daughters, Helen and Adrienne Brown and Latanya Herring; two sons, Troy and Michael Brown; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Gibson (Mickey); 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; five sisters, Sandra, Linda, Wanda, Kathy and Doris; four brothers, Raymond, Morris, Lesley and Wesley; one uncle, Herbert Isaac; and a host of cousin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Annette also leaves a special friend (who was like an adopted sister) Theresa Ammos.
