Anita Hall

TAKE CARE Anita Hairston Hall was born on April 8, 1957, to the late Laviod Hairston Sr. and the late Mildred Hairston. She peacefully transitioned in her home on December 28, 2025. Anita was the eldest of four siblings and was preceded in death by her brother, the late Lavoid Hairston Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Lorie Ann Hairston and Tonia Alile. Anita will be remembered for her deep faith, loving heart, sense of style, compassion, advocacy, and a Ravens superfan. God and faith were central to the Hairston household. Family members lifted praises through song, sharing their gifts in the church choir, the Echoneers, at First Apostolic Faith Church. Anita was always actively involved in church, faithfully serving and participating in ministry. She often laughed and said, “We were always at church when the doors were open.” Anita was educated through the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Northern High School in 1975. Already being a mother to her baby boy Tavalis, Anita was later joined in marriage in June 1976 to Mark Hall Sr. From this union, Anita and Mark had two children. With Anita’s ambitious spirit, she immediately enrolled in Villa Julie College for the Nursing Assistant Program, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1978. While Anita was employed at Visiting Nursing of Maryland, she then returned to school in pursuit of a Nursing degree all while being a wife and mother of three children. She achieved another Associate of Arts degree in 1987 and started her nursing career journey. Anita was a nurse at Jessup Prison, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, and Rosewood Center. Anita continued to be the “family nurse,” where she was always open to helping and directly advocating for her family. Her passion for caring for others was evident both professionally and personally, as she consistently extended love, support, and compassion to those around her. Everyone who knew Anita knew she was a true fashionista. She had an authentic eye for style and took great pride in coordinating her outfits from head to toe—matching her clothes with the perfect jewelry, shoes, and, of course, a signature headpiece. Her elegance, confidence, and personal flair made her an unforgettable presence wherever she went. The excitement of her screams and shouts during football games made it impossible to miss her in any crowd. When the Ravens came to Baltimore in 1996, the game took on a whole new meaning, and Anita immediately became a devoted superfan. Anita was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother. Anita is survived by her loving children: Tavalis Hairston, Mark (Kristina) Hall Jr., and Valerie (Mike) Robinson. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Natalie Robinson, Michael Robinson Jr., Trey Robinson, and Johnathon Hall A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. each of whom held a special place in her heart. Though Anita will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, caring, and style will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
