Angela Maria Veney

Family and friends are grieving and mourning, the loss of Angela Maria Veney, who departed this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Columbus and Pauline Marian Veney (nee: Bell) (Monk). Her sister, Gloria, was there by her side, via the miracle of zoom technology, in these strange and perilous times. Angela Maria was born on April 30, 1957. Although her lineage originates back to Warsaw County Richmond, VA (paternal) and Dunn, NC (maternal), Angela was born in Baltimore, MD, where she resided all of her life, and where she received her educational, cultural, and religious foundation, and pursued a long and exemplary career in property management, on into retirement. Her joyful enthusiasm and her captivating smile and spirit will live on in our hearts and memories, as we recall the charismatic, and multifaceted beautiful free spirit, that Angela Maria was. Angela Maria leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved companion and partner of over thirty years, Nicholas Moore, and the extended Moore family; and she leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Gloria Veney Hunt and a host of family and life-long friends. In honoring her long-held desire that no funeral be held, a private family gathering was held, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at King Memorial Park, Baltimore, MD, to commemorate the end of Angela’s earthly journey. Following the gathering, was a pilgrimage to her mother’s resting place, also at King Memorial Park, to commemorate the reunion of mother and daughter, and then a pilgrimage to her father’s resting place, at Arbutus Memorial Park, Baltimore, MD to commemorate the reunion of father and daughter. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses and staff of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD, for your attentive, compassionate and dignified care of Angela Maria. The family also wishes to express our sincere appreciation to each and every one who have, in so many ways, comforted us and soothed our grief, with your calls, prayers, cards, words of encouragement, and other demonstrations of love and care.
