ANGELA DENISE JONES

ANGELA DENISE JONES, affectionately known as “Aunt Angie,” was born on September 15, 1963 to the late Mildred Braford and Cornelius Jones. She suddenly departed this life on March 9, 2023. Angie was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System where she received her diploma. She later met the late Lloyd Hargrove and out of this union came the ultimate love of her life, Chanel. Angie was raised with a spiritual background where she continued her faith at Created For So Much More Worship Center. She led the culinary department, where she spent endless hours during the holidays preparing meals and decorating the church. She served on the Usher Board and was a part of the weekly manner class where she was enlightened and encouraged. Angie was employed at Martin’s West for 33 years as a Garde manager Chef. She loved going to work where she could express herself through her creative masterpieces that intrigued many. She could bring any food/fruit to life, just show her and she’d deliver. Angie was a wonderful and joyous leader of the union at Martin’s West and throughout Baltimore. She served as shop steward and a member of the contract committee. In 2017 she was recognized as the Unite Here Local 7 Member of the Year for her courageous leadership. Angie knew the true meaning of love and solidarity. Angie was a jack-of-all-trades, there was nothing she couldn’t do. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, decorating her home for every season/ holiday, shopping especially at the thrift stores. fte highlight of her day was spending time with Chanel and her boys who she loved and adored. Angie made numerous friends wherever she went and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her but her huge smile will live forever in our hearts. Angie was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Braford, father Cornelius Jones, brothers Donnell, Bobby, Tony, James and Lewis, and sisters Jacqueline and Gwendolyn. Angie leaves to cherish her memory: the light of her life, Chanel Hargrove; five grandsons, Diallo Chance, Martese ftomas, Antwan Lipscomb, Lamont and Todd Jones; sister, Vanessa Cochran; brother, Leonard Cochran; a special niece and nephew who she raised as her own, Lynnell Cochran and Isiah Spriggs; a very close cousin/sister, Jacqueline Lee; a neighbor who became family, Florence Hawkins; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
