Alvin L. Young Jr.

Alvin Lee Young Jr., lovingly known as “L.A.”, was the son of Donna Maria Young, and Alvin Lee Young Sr. who preceded him in death. L.A. was born on October 26, 1980, in Baltimore, Maryland and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. L.A. graduated from Cardinal Shehan Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1994, and graduated from Loch Raven High School in 1998. During his years in high school LA was enrolled in R.O.T.C. He loved playing baseball and L.A. excelled receiving several trophies and certificates, leading his team to the championship, after hitting a “Grand Slam”. He also loved karate, and received a green belt, after an outstanding performance. After graduating from high school, his desire was to attend a trade school to become a diesel mechanic. His desire led him to the North American Trade School. After trade school, he worked for Open Door Inc., located in Towson MD. He was responsible for supervising elementary school-aged children. L.A.’s talents did not go unrecognized. His talents were recognized in the Real Estate industry and was hired to work for DIR Enterprise in Stevenson, MD. While working in the Real Estate industry, he was hired by G & E Contractors, located in Baltimore MD. He continued working both jobs until he became disabled. L.A.’s “teddy bear like” stature and demeaner made him magnetic, full of love for children. God blessed him with a loving daughter, affectionately named, Alexandria Nicole Young, born February 1st, 2008, who was the love of his life. After the birth of his daughter, L.A.’s life was complete. L.A. had an “agape” love for his family, to include his father, who preceded him in death, and it was openly displayed. His father would drop him off at school, leaving him with the words, “I’ll see you at 2:40, Shorty”. Those were the last words spoken to L.A., from his father. L.A. would sacrifice all, to see his family together on holidays. All empathetic adjectives describe him. He was adventurous, compassionate, warmhearted, softhearted, gentle and loving. He showed love and concerned for others in an unbelievable manner and would tackle any task placed before him. L.A. was astonishingly quick-witted and perceptive. His intelligence led him to understanding the most intricate complexities and assimilation of ideas. He was the epitome of the old cliché “to know him, was to love him”. There is no greater love,than the love that a mother has for her children. L.A. will be profoundly missed, and leaves us all with his template on “A village of love”. L.A. leaves to cherish his loving spirit, and precious memory: his loving mother, Donna Maria Young; his daughter, Alexandria Nicole Young; sister, Sheila Demetria Young; his niece, Lyric Reign Harrison-Evans; grandmother, Annie Trappe; aunt, Di Jones; cousin, Brian Matthew Jones; one great-uncle, Rueben McCoy; and a host of relatives and friends.
