Alvin T. Brown

Alvin Thomas Brown, affectionately known as Preddy, Bug, June, and Junior from the Block, was the beloved son Albert Thomas and the late Katherine Thomas. Born on March 21, 1955, Alvin peacefully departed this life on August 24, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. As the oldest son, Alvin learned responsibility and how to provide for his family at a very young age. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. During, a season of incarceration, Alvin displayed resilience and determination, earning his GED, an upholstering license, and later studying assisting countless individuals with their legal challenges and, in some cases, helping them regain their freedom. Alvin was a man whose spirit was marked by laughter. He had an unmatched ability to fill a room with joy, captivating others with his jokes, words, and countless stories. Family was the heartbeat of his life. He met his neighbor, Helen Edwards, who became the mother of his children. From their union came two children: Sheriffe and the late Deonte Thomas, along with two stepchildren, Lisa and Wayne. Later in life, Alvin was blessed with the companionship of his long friend, the late Anthonette Johnson, until she was called to her heavenly home. To Cherish his memory. Alvin leaves behind his father, Albert Thomas: his devoted daughter, Sheriffe Thomas; five grandchildren: Tony, Keonte, Johnnaye, Amirah, and Sumayah; and five grandchildren: Cassidy, Jamari, Elijah, Deandre, and NaLani. He is also survived by seven sister: Charlotte Thomas, Sharon Thomas, Kim Thomas, Deborah Parker, Lisa Kittrell, Zina Key, Anita McGowan, and Darlene Johnson: two sisters-in-laws: Patricia and Debbie Thomas; three brothers: Reginald Thomas, Ernest Thomas, and Abdullah Thomas; one brother-in-law: Kenyetta Smothers; his uncle, Roland Dorsey; two aunts: Sandra Dorsey and Dorothy Coniginland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will love and miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Katherine Thomas; his son, Deonte Thomas; his brother, Keith Thomas; Twenty – two uncles; nineteen aunts; one niece; three nephews; six brothers-in-law; and his cherished grandparents Though Alvin’s earthly journey has ended, his legacy of resilience, laughter, and love lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
