Alonzo Allen Jeter Sr.

Alonzo Allen Jeter, son of Norma Jeter and the late George Jeter was born on March 9, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a battle with cancer he departed this life on May 27, 2017 with his family by his side. Alonzo received his formal education in the Baltimore City Public school system, he graduated from Harbor City High School in 1985. On October 24, 1992 Alonzo married the love of his life, Donna Hill. From this union three children were born Tra’shel, Alonzo Jr. and Brittney. Alonzo worked for the City of Baltimore for sixteen years, as a waste water operator at the Back-River Waste Water Treatment Plant. He enjoyed what he did, and he never called out sick for one day until he became ill. In 2001, Alonzo became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Alonzo enjoyed spending time with family especially his grandchildren Mekhi and Paige. He loved to play football and watched the Ravens play every chance he got. When he wasn’t watching football, he would watch old westerns movies on television. When Alonzo was not watching television or spending time with family, he would get his lawn mower and go around the neighborhood cutting grass. He even picked up a few regular customers as time went on who looked forward to getting their lawns manicured. Alonzo’s life would seem to have been too short to many, but to those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile brought so much joy to those he loved, especially his daughter Brittney whose birthday he departed this life on. Proceeding him in death his brother Daniel Gordon Baker, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 34 years Donna M. Hill-Jeter; his mother Norma Jeter; four sisters Melissa, Rolanda, Rachelle and Robbie; four brothers George J, George G, Franklin, and William; his mother-in-law Alice; Father-in-law Joshua; two daughter-in-law’s Marleyna and Monique; two son-in-law Corey; two brother-in-law Joe and Kelvin; four sister-in-law’s Sherene, Jamettea, Adia, and Madie; two grandchildren Mekhi and Paige; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
