Alice M. Jones

Alice Marion Carter Jones was born on July 1, 1921 in Crewe Virginia. She was one of ten children born to Millie Watson Carter and Frank Carter. She became a Christian at an early age. Alice was a spirited young girl; she became a Christian at a very young age. While she attended regular school in Crewe, Virginia she participated in many plays for fundraising purposes. Alice was a number of actress. She would not only remember her lines but the lines of the other actors and actresses as well. Alice had a happy childhood and grew up to be a responsible adult. She was only five feet tall but her personality was larger than life. She had a smile that would light up the room. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland during WWII, she worked various Government jobs. The main one was at the defense plant where she built bomber airplanes. Alice was a riveter for the wings of the plane. While in Baltimore she ran into a very familiar face from home town. His name was Edward C. Jones. Alice joined Edward in holy matrimony. From this union three children were born, Donald, Stephanie and Surita. She later completed her high school education and received her cosmetology license at Carver Cocational Technical High School. Alice was a very hard worker. Alice worked many years as premier hair stylist at a major beauty salon in west Baltimore. She tirelessly worked in another person's salon and then later on came home to run her own. Alice led a very healthy life style. She exercised regularly, she always ate healthy and she never drank alcohol or smoked cigarettes, she always went to bed early. Her diet consisted of whole wheat and whole grain fresh vegetables and soy. She departed this life on October 4, 2013, due to natural causes. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Auntie. She is survived by her Sister Louise Doswell and Mary Lois Smith. Children Donald Jones, Daughter-in-Law Terry Jones, Stephanie (Robin) Jones and Surita Jones-Burton, Son-in-Law Thomas Burton Grandchildren , Sukari Jones and Madisyn Jones. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends whom she loved and adored.
