Albert V. Woodley

On January 1, 2006 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, God said it was time for His faithful son, ALBERT V. WOODLEY to claim his inheritance in heaven. God closed Albert's eyes to awaken him to a place where he found perfect peace and happiness. Albert V. Woodley, son of the late Paul Woodley and Lula B. Drumgoole Woodley, was born on July 23, 1934 in Brunswick County, Virginia. He attended public schools in Brunswick County. In August, 1957 Albert was united in holy matrimony with the former Cora B. Broadnax of Broadnax, Virginia. God blessed this union with three daughters. In 1957, Albert moved his family to Baltimore, Maryland. That same year he became employed at Bethlehem Steel Corporation (The Point, as everyone called it) as an Iron Worker. He worked at The Point for forty years until his retirement in 1997. He was a dedicated employee. Albert went to work everyday; rain or shine, sleet, hail, or snow, he was at work. Not only did he work hard at The Point, but also when he was not there he drove a cab part-time for many years. He believed in working hard and providing for his family. Throughout his whole life, Albert helped everyone that came to him asking for a helping hand. He helped family members, friends and even strangers on the street. He was the type of person who could never say NO to anyone. He had a very large heart. If there were more people like Albert, this world would definitely be a better place. Albert was a beloved and dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, nephew, cousin and friend. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: wife, Cora B.; six daughters, Sarah "Maxine", Eloise, Darlene (deceased), Naomi Lambert, Shrvon Pitts, Pat Barner of Lawrenceville, Va.; one son, Jerry Palmer of NY; three brothers, John Joe (deceased), Percy Lee of Baltimore, Md. and Robert Earl of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Elaine Jessie (deceased), Margaret Ward of Lawrenceville, Va., Betty Callis of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Albert (P-Nutt), Darryl, Deric, Jr. and Ariel; granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Woodley; two aunts, Ruth Kelly, Grace Johnson of Lawrenceville, Va.; one sister-in-law, Emma Mae Woodley; one brother-in-law, John Callis of Richmond, Va.; one son-in-law, Deric Lambert; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.
