Douglas, beloved daughter of the late Mack Harris and Pauline Gray, was born February 21, 1935 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.“…A TIME TO DIE:”Peacefully, on Monday afternoon, January 29, 2007, Agnes finioshed the course of her earthly life at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and answered the Master’s call to obtain the reward and promise of a fuller life.“…A TIME TO PLANT:”Agnes was the beloved wife of the late James W. Douglas; devoted mother to Sandra Douglas Dotson and the late Anita Douglas Wesley; proud grandmother of Carlton Wesley, Kevin Dotson and Calvin Dotson; loving great-grandmother of Brea Deanna Wesley; and special sister to Melvin Gray, Raymond Gray and Betty Walker.She graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School in Rocky Mount, NC and remained active with the Alumni Association, where she also held National Office. Agnes received her baccalaureate degree from Morgan State College (now Morgan State University), obtained her graduate degree (MSW) from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning, and was employed with the United States Government at the Veterans Hospital as a Clinical Social Worker for twenty-six years until her 1994 retirement.Sister Douglas joined the Morning Star Baptist Church – Catonsville, MD. In 1977 and served in numerous ministries, some of which included The Pearls of Wisdom, Christian Education, Bible Study and Discipleship Classes.“…A TIME TO PLUCK UP THAT WHICH IS PLANTED:”“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God an house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.” – II Corinthians 5:1“…A TIME TO WEEP AND A TIME TO LAUGH:”“Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5b“…A TIME TO MOURN AND A TIME TO DANCE.”“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing. Thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness.” – Psalm 30:11Rejoicing in her victory and cherishing her memory are: a devoted and caring daughter, Sandra Douglas Dotson; devoted son-in-law, Calvin Wesley Dotson, Jr.; two step-sons, James Douglas and Wayne Douglas; three grateful grandsons, Canton, Kevin and Calvin; a precious great-granddaughter, Brea; two brothers, Melvin Gray (Rocky Mount, NC) and Raymond Gray (Winston-Salem, NC); sister, Betty Walker (New Castle, DE.); the Morning Star Baptist Church Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
