Adrian Helena Geiger

If you're reading this, I have gone home to Glory where my dear mother and father welcomed me with open arms just as they did when I started my earthly life on November 6, 1950. Now you know the dash on the front of this obituary that seperates the day I was born and the date of my death? That dash represents my living. Please allow me to share some of the highlights within the dash. My education in the Baltimore City Public schools prepared me for my talent as a seamstress. I sewed aprons, curtains and clothes for myself and others. Val, remember the gowns I made for your high school proms? In addition to sewing, I loved to party and dance. Red light parties in the basement, house parties, back yard parties were my favorite type of events. If there was music and a crowd I was there dancing. Remember the Kirby Scott dance show (Baltimore) from the 1960's? I made an appearance on that show. Ahhhh, that was "outta sight". I became a community organizer in the neighborhood sorority that I joined, called Omega Gamma Delta. I settled in and started taking care of my family. In doing so, I became a more private person. Even my family complained how isolated I had become, but that was fine because I developed a love for cooking while I was in my zone. I watched the cooking channels and with my old school teachings from my mom and dad, I cooked and my family enjoyed. I became a private individual but they (family) never complained when there was plenty of food to eat. Growing up in a family with 5 siblings was chaotic, fun, and somtimes problematic. The problems are when your siblings looked up to you for support and guidance, but you just did not want to be that leader. My sister Evette was the quiet one. She was the one closest to my mom. My brother Kevin he was the devious and playful one always looking to prank one of us. My sister Jane (Janice) was the bouncer. She was looking to protect everyone in the family. And of course Net (Annette) the babygirl, was always the peace maker. (My oldest brother Otis preceeded me in death) My brothers and sisters do not forget to lookout for one another. Please continue to live as we were taught. It would not make any sense to discontinue the Friday fish fry at Jane's. You know Fridays was my favorite day of the week! I worked for the C and P Telephone Company, Maryland State government and retired from the United States Post Office, where I made many good friends throughout the years. I also traveled extensively as a union representative for the post office My jewels, my babies, did I do right by you? Will I live on in you? I can answer that. Yes, my Val(Valerie)sweet, loud, talkative, outspoken, giving and loving. You'll go over, under and around anything that gets in your way. I see the joy in your face when you are intensely creating and designing your crafts to add zest to any occasion or holiday. That's a little of me and a lot of you. My babyboy, I named you Duane but you will always be my "Puff". Your warm spirit is a combination of your grandmother and I. The private and quiet way you love and care for your family is very much like myself. Your concern for everyone's well being is first and foremost, when they're okay, you're okay. My grand babies bought such joy to me in my later years Devin Williams, Duane Geiger, Malik Geiger, Terrell Williams and Autumn Geiger. My love for my grands just overwhelms me. To my boys there will always be struggles in life, but remain steadfast and I know you will find your way. To my Autumn, my only grand daughter continue to listen to your parents and grow to be a fearless young lady and move mountains. To all my other family and friends present, don't grieve for me because I'm free, continue to love and care for one another daily because tomorrow is not promised.
