Ada Lou McCaffity

ADA LOU KINGWOOD-MCCAFFITY was born, April 13, 1952 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Waddell Kingwood Sr. and Pearlie Mae Anthony- Kingwood. After a short illness, on Friday, June 12, 2015, our heavenly Father entered the Gilchrist Hospice Center, in Towson, Maryland and took hold of Ada's hand, and led her up the stairs to the Golden Gates of Heaven. Ada, fondly known to everyone (family and friends) as Alou, received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She completed her education at the Forest Park Senior High School in June, 1969. Ada Kingwood, met and married (later divorced) Oliver L. McCaffity Sr. in the early 1970's, and from this union one son, Oliver L. McCaffity [r., was born. On July 14, 1990, the pride and joy of her son was born, her one and only granddaughter, Kaneshia Sade McCaffity, (KeKe). There was nothing too big or small for her granddaughter. They spent many memorable occasions together. She really loved her KeKe. Our angel Ada, accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in her bed at the Gilchrist Hospice Center as her family members, Lump, [ennetta, KaWanda, Andrea and A'mya prayed over her at her bedside several weeks prior to her journey home. Ada worked with the MEDO Fragrance Company as an assembly line packer for more than 10 years. She also held many part-time positions in housekeeping. Alou loved to watch ALL television shows. Some of her favorite shows were Leave it to Beaver, Hawaii Pive-O, In the heat of the Night, CSI, The First 48 and scary movies. She enriched her mind doing cross word puzzles and watching game shows like Family Feud, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, ete. Ada had an adamant desire to play her scratch off's, and that's what she did. Alou's passionate love for her family was inseparable, especially the love of her one and only son, Oliver L. McCaffity Jr. (who preceded her in death in 2002). Ada and Oliver Jr.'s (known to family and friends as Tinkle or Little Woody) love was unconditional, and the relationship they shared was very UNIQUE. Although Ada had a very close and caring relationship with her granddaughter, sisters, nephews and nieces, she could not accept the loss of her one and only son. When family members would get together, you can bet if it was the first time you met Ada, we guarantee, you would never forget her. She was the LIFEof the party. Those of you who knew Ada can identify with this statement. AIou was standoffish, and a laid back type of person, very personal and not very flashy. You can rely on Alou appearing in her plaid blouse and permanently creased spray starched blue jeans at just about every family outing. If however someone said "Come on Alou", this is a special occasion, then she would dress it up a little bit...but regardless of her demeanor she seemed to always make you feel comfortable after being in her company for a while. Alou didn't need a bunch of people to make her complete. She had two best friends; Josanna Thornton (who preceded her in death), and her best friend today of 51 years, Doris McFadden. She had a very special relationship with her nieces Andrea and A'mya, who was' at her side until the very end. Alou we want you to know you will live in the hearts of all who LOVED you, and we will miss you dearly. But most of all it soothes our hearts knowing you are now in your element, because you are with your baby boy, Poopie Doo, who is probably saying to you, Come On "A"take my hand, as I welcome you into your heavenly home. Ada had one brother Waddell Kingwood Jr. and a great-nephew Ronald "Dante" Clark [r., who also preceded her in death. CHERISHING ADA'S MEMORY: granddaughter, Kaneshia McCaffity (Jay); adopted son, Darren Williams; step sons, Ouincy Alford and Aaron McCaffity; step daugters, I'Dreamer and Ariell McCaffity; sisters, Ann "Lump "Clark (Alfred "Buggs"),Ethel "[ennetta(loseph "Chop"), and Karen "Carolyn" Kingwood(Kevin "Apple");nephews, Joseph "Stinkie "Clark (Kim), Ronald "Koochie" Clark (Emma), Antoine "Spanky" Williams (Jessica), Damon'Moochie" Kingwood and Ronaldo Coxson; nieces, KaWanda, Andrea, and YuLanda Kingwood; great-nephews, Ouantrell (Joy), Linwood "Handsome", Antoine II "AT', Tristan and Trenton; great- nieces, Temia (Jamal), Niyah, A'mya, Ashley, JaNaiyah and JaLayah; one uncle and aunt, John Ray and Gloria Anthony of North Carolina, another aunt, Ethel Mae Turner of New York City; and a host of cousins, other relatives, family members and friends. ,
