Aaron Floyd Simmons

In the late evening on Friday, June 30, 2006, AARON SIMMONS peacefully and silently was delivered to his heavenly home, after a lengthy illness. Aaron Simmons was born in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. He was the fifth of ten children born to the late David and Jean A. Simmons, Jr. on December 8, 1955. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Reared and nurtured in a loving family, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the pastorate of the late Rev. Means of Israel Baptist Church when it was located on the corner of Chester and Preston Streets. He then later joined Greater Paradise Christian Center under Elder Shawn L. Bell. "Aaronie," as he was called by his family, joined the Army Reserve in 1975. He went on to father four children, three daughters and one son. Aaron was a devoted father and loved his children dearly. For a brief period he worked for Hi Gear, then later went to school to learn to drive tractor trailers. After receiving his Class C certification, he went to work for I. E. Kane as a driver, which he continued until his health prevented him from doing so. Those who knew him will always remember his love for fine clothes and his detail to wear them. He also had a strong love for fast cars and racing them. Remember to GTO and the stories that went with it. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed the sport of the game. Aaron was loved by all and made many friends over the years wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth D. Simmons. He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Channan Simmons, Danielle Simmons, Cristal A. Jones and Aaron J. Jones; one grandson, Shane J. Simmons; three sisters, Saundra Simmons-Bell (Anthony), Lisa C. Simmons (special friend, Steve Matthews) and Karen J. Simmons; five brothers, Larry E. Simmons, Nathan D. Simmons, Dennis E. Simmons (Roslyn), Ronnie L. Simmons (special friend, Rita Rollen) and Darren L. Simmons; one special devoted niece, Kisha Simmons-Blackwell; a very special friend, Stephanie Smith; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
