Deacon Willie Louis Mayo

Early Friday morning on June 8, 2012, God dispatch his angel to bring Deacon Willie Louis Mayo home to be with his heavenly father. Deacon Willie Mayo was born November 22, 1935 in Buckingham, Virginia to the late Willie E. and Virginia Mayo. He grew up in Buckingham County and was educated in the Buckingham County School System. Willie decided at an early age to walk with Christ and joined Pleasant View Baptist Church. He later joined and Morning Star Baptist Church where he served on the Usher and Deacon Board. He later transferred his membership to Star Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was an active and dedicated member until he was called home to be with his Lord. Willie was a very kind and loving man. He loved to talk about the Lord and his blessings. He found fulfillment and doing things at the church and at his lodge, Charity Lodge #25, Fannie Lewis #OES. For many years, Willie work for Hammond Masonry Company and later retired from Bryan Brothers Masonry, Inc. Willie worked and raised his family in Richmond, Virginia where he served in many organizations: Past Master for Charity Lodge #25, Vice Chairman of the Star Fellowship Baptist Church; a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #4, The Deacon Conference Committee and the District Lodge. Willie leaves to cherish fond memories to his loving wife, Rose L. Oulds-Mayo; children, Ronald Mayo (Carol) of Richmond, Virginia, Michael Perry( Darlene) of Greensville, North Carolina, Eric Mayo(Dori) of Neenah, WI., Yvette Kirk and 1 devoted, Pamela Mayo, both of Richmond Virginia;7 grandchildren, RonKeisha,CaTorya, Nicole and Michaela Mayo and RaShawn, Ashley and Michael Perry, 5 great –grandchildren; godchild, Symon M. Hammond;4 brothers, Edward Mayo of Washington DC, Kenneth Mayo of New Canton, Virginia, Phillip and Garland Mayo(Cynthia) of Richmond Virginia,2 sisters,Arnest Mayo of Richmond, Virginia and Linda Mayo of New Canton, Virginia;4 sisters- in –law, Thelma Oulds and Norma Barley of Amelia, Virginia and Carolyn Fields(Pete) and Pearl Mayo of Richmond, Virginia;1 brother- in- law Wilbur Oulds (Christine) of Winfield, New Jersey; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, one devoted Willie Briley.
