Wanda G. Miller

Wanda Geraldine Miller was born March 29, 1922 to the late Jerry and Viola Guthrie in Turner Station, Maryland. She transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on April 16, 2023, Wanda was baptized at an early age by Reverend Shelton Fleming at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Turner Station. In later years, she moved her church, in Baltimore City, under the leadership of Pastor Charles M. Franklin Sr. She was a faithful member for over 30 years. Wanda served on the Deaconess Ministry, Social Action Committee, Young Adult Usher Boar, Library Committee and numerous other activities within the church. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Her favorite Hyman was “How Great Thou Art.” Her favorite scripture was Psalm 28:7. Wanda was educated in the Baltimore County System. She graduated from Sollers Point High School System on June 5, 1962 She was employed by the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, retiring on October 1, 2003 with 35 years of service. Wanda met and married the late Junious G. Miller, Sr. on January 21, 1966. He was the love of her life. God blessed them with a son, Junious G. Miller, Jr on October 22, 1967 Junious brought so much joy into their lives. Wanda loved her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, reunions and just talking on the phone with family and friends on a daily basics. Her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, step-children-in-laws, cousins, friends were all so special to her. She leaves to cherish her memory, a very devoted and dedicated son, Junious G. Miller Jr (Carmen). Two brothers; Jerry L. Guthrie Jr. (Mamie) Thornton Guthrie (Joyce), A deceased brother Calvin A. Guthrie (Marva), Three sisters; Barbara Cooper, Margie Guthrie and Vanessa Guthrie. Stepson Michael Miller and step daughter Melissa Miller. Four grandchildren; Alexander C. Miller, Katrina R. Miller, Marianna W. Miller and little Junious L. Miller. Step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brothers-in-law; Herman (Stanley) Miller and Ronald Miller (Desiree). Sisters-in-law; Marva Guthrie, Norma Ferguson, Yvette Miller, Karla Thornton and Karren Mims. Two special nieces; Shannon Guthrie (David) and Shavoone Guthrie. Two special nephews; Thornton (Man) Guthrie Jr. (Saphina) and Thornton Guthrie lll (Little Man). She also leaves an aunt Arnell Hayward and an uncle; Marcellus Easter (Sylvia). Many cousins and other relatives and friends. We will miss her.
