Tina Victoria Davis

On Friday, September 5, 2022, TINA VICTORIA DAVIS departed this life for her loving spirit to find peace and much needed rest. Tina, the daughter of the late James and June Davis, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 30, 1960. Tina was the product of the Baltimore Public School System. She was proud to be a part of the Walbrook Senior High School “Warrior” family. Like so many of her family members, Tina grew up in and was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland, where she enjoyed singing on the choir. As time passed on Tina became a devoted member of the Grace Baptist Church. This was by no accident. Tina followed a long-time special friend of hers to this congregation. Mr. Richard Maxfield (Scootie), who was the Minister of Music at Calvary in later years became the Minister of Music at Grace Baptist. Tina served on the choir at Grace and was one of their lead sopranos. She led the spirit into the sanctuary as a soloist, singing “I feel the spirit all over me”. Her personality was such that she was endeared by many close choir members and friends at Grace Baptist. She had a special relationship with “her” Pastor, Rev. Eric Holder. If you ever met Tina, the first thing that would strike you would be her ever present smile. That smile would often start a conversation that would develop into a meaningful friendship. Once there you would get pulled into her sense of humor. Yes, she loved to laugh, and she loved to get you to be laughing with her. Tina would be classified as a homebody. She had a few physical challenges that would not permit her to work. So, she was content in staying home and taking care of her ailing mother, who just transitioned of December 2, 2021. Otherwise, she would be in church or with a small group of close-knit friends. With them she always shared a humorous comment or two. One of her most used quotes was “I’ll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today”. You see Tina loved hamburgers. If you came to her house and if she gave you a menu, there would only be one item listed, “Hamburger”. She also loved her nieces and her one nephew dearly. They will surely miss Aunt Tina. Tina had another love. Following Maryland’s sports teams. To be more specific her Ravens and her Orioles. In that regard Tina took after her father. She did a deep dive when keeping up on their standings, statistics and favorite players. She consistently watched their games on television. Tina was employed for a period of time at the Loch Raven Technical Academy. She was there until her health would not permit her to work any longer. If reading any part of this statement on Tina’s life brings a smile to your face, Tina’s spirit will rejoice, she would want to leave you with a blessed moment. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Kim Davis (Isaac); two nieces, Cherise and Patrice; great-nephew, Ryan and two great-nieces, Payton and Journey; great-aunt, Blanche Pinkney; great-uncle, Harry Bradford; aunt, Mary Chambers; uncle, Calvin J. Graves (Florence); and a host of cousins, church members and friends.
