Thomasine F. Parrott

Homeostasis Frances Parrott, affectionately know as Mootis, entered this world on October 26, 1960, to the late Dora Frances McCormick and the late Thomas Parrott. As an adult, she went on to meet and experience a loving relationship with her biological father, the late Cledith Hurtt. Thomasine attended Baltimore City public School and earned her diploma from Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1978. Thomasine was very active at Mervo as a cheerleader, choir member, athlete in track & field, and field participated in other major school events. Thomasine continued her education, darning an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies at Baltimore City Community College and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business at the University of Baltimore, where she graduated suma cum laude. She also had a long, flourishing career at General Motors as an Assembler in the Body Shop and Paint Department. She was the first and only woman to become Vice President of the United Auto Workers Local #239 in Baltimore. She was passionate about union issue and was well known and respected by the workers. Thomasine dedicated her life to her family and friends, but especially to her one and only child, Dora. She loved Dora with all of her heart and was determined to provide her with the best life she possibly could. She made a point to always be there and to get acquainted with every activity that Dora was involved in. Her warm welcoming personality made it easy to develop long lasting relationship with Dora's friends, coaches, teachers, and administrators. Thomasine served for two years as the President of the Parents' Association at St Paul's School for Girls where Dora attended school. She always worked wholeheartedly to carry out the school's mission and support Dora's activities. I will Bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth! PSALM 34: 1 There was no question of her love for Dora, her family and friends, and her love for God. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. She was baptized and is now being eulogized here at Israel Baptist Church as was her Mother, Grandmother and Aunt before her. Thomasine loved to sing and did it well. She was a member of the Young Adult Choir of Southern Baptish Church, The Inspirational Praise Choir, Kings Choral Ensemble, and most recently enjoyed being a member of the Baltimore Sanctuary Choir. She loved to praise and worship many churches. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith... II TIMOTHY 4:7 Thomasine “Mootie” Parrott departed this life on November 14, 2017, after a brief illness. Her loving daughter Dora, dearest sister Charlene, and family members were with her as she quetly and peacefully transitioned. Everyday, during this difficult time, she was supported and cared for with the dignity that she deserved by her family and friends, especially Charlene, with the help of Dorian, Monica and Tonya, who gently cared for her thoughout her final hours. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her daughter, Dora Evans; siblings, Charlene Pindell, Christine McCormick, Robert McCormick, Sr., Wynne Hurtt and Sandy Clover; her brother-in-law, Leonard Pindell, Sr., who was like another blood brother to her; three nephews, Leon Smith-Bey, Leonard Pindell Jr., and Robert McCormick, Jr.; three nieces, Dorian Butler, Tomeka Pindell and Chanda McCormick; 2 sister -in-law; 9 great-nieces; 6 great-nephers; 2 great great -nieces; a first cousin, Gloria Scott; one goddauthter, Consuela Dickens; one godson, Caleb Maddox; a special group of dvoted friends- Monica, Tonya, Tondria, Towana, Ava, Jackie and Shelley; and an amazing host of other relatives and other friends.
