Theresa Berkley

Theresa Berkley, daughter of the late Lillian Pindell and Warren Mann, was born on June 23, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. After a brief illness, Theresa was called home to be with the Lord. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Donald Berkley. Of this union there is one daughter, Chevonne Adams. Ten years later, Theresa was blessed with a second daughter, Kia Harris. Theresa was educated at St Francis Xavier then went on to graduate from Eastern High School. She attended the Community College of Baltimore and received her C.N.A During the early 70's she was employed as a Substitute Teacher. In 1979, she changed careers and began working at Sinai Hospital as a Nursing Assistant and O.R. Technician. As an employee of the Baltimore City Health Department Theresa compassionately served as a Health Aide in the Baltimore City Public Schools for the last 22 years of her life. Theresa has been an active member of Saint Ann's Church for many years. She was a choir member, a member of the Leadership Team, the BUILD Action Team and would help out whenever called upon. She sincerely loved her church and her church family. She was very active in her community and was instrumental in the planning of the annual Pindell-Hawkins Family Reunion. Theresa shared many enduring and loving relationships that included her loving goddaughters, Brandi and India and life long friends, Wilma, Janet and Debbie. All of her family, friends and neighbors were also aware of Theresa's remarkable love of animals and her willingness to love and care for them. One of her last inquiries to her brother was "Lenny, do you know anyone that has any kittens?" She leaves to celebrate her life: two daughters, Chevonne Adams and Kia Harris; one brother, Leonard Pindell; one son-in-law, James Adams; one sister-in-law, Charlene Pindell; three grandchildren, Jahbrie, Kailah and Nijaiya; aunts, Mary Conway, Ella Yarborough and Irma Faulcon; uncles, Lewis and Edgar Pindell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Theresa considered all children of God as part of her extended family. We will miss her presence but will keep her fondly in our memories.
