Tavon Heights Jr.

TAVON McCESS HEIGHT JR., 33 years of old, tragically passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in Baltimore, Maryland. His family and friends are devastated by his sudden death. Tavon was born May 19, 1990 in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland to Tamika Distance Collins and Tavon McCess Height Sr. Tavon Height, affectionately known as “Tae” “Tatter” and “Lil Tavon” was educated in the Baltimore City Public and Baltimore County School Systems. He later moved to Georgia and graduated at Lithonia Senior High School. Upon graduating high school, Tavon received a full-ride scholarship to play football at Saint Paul’s College, a HBCU in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Tavon became interested in nursing, and he went to the American Red Cross certified Nursing Assistant Training Program. He worked several years as a (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant at Med Star Franklin Square Hospital. Tavon was passionate about helping his patients. The Staff loved working with Tavon and the patients love his bedside manners. He later became interested in driving 18 wheelers/tractor trailer trucks. He attended All State Career Driving school and obtained his CDL license. Tavon was loved and he showed loved to his family and friends. He was a great person, genuine, respectful and kind. Don’t get him wrong though, he wouldn’t hesitate to express how he felt but he didn’t hold grudges. Tavon, not liking confrontation, would always say “You Right”. He had a big heart to match that beautiful smile. He was one of a kind. Tavon was very comforting, always joking - our family nicknamed him PlayVon. Tavon loved chilling watching good movies, TV & NETFLIX while enjoying Buffalo Wings with blue cheese. Tavon lived in a few different areas of the city but spent most of his time on Montfort Avenue, where he was surrounded by his family and friends. Preceding him in death: Grandmother Sharrian Robinson, Great Grandmother Frances (Granny Franny) Distance and Brother Saequan Height Tavon leaves to cherish his memory: Daughter Ava Heights; Father Tavon McCess Height Sr; Mother Tamika Collins (Husband Jamaal Collins); Stepfather William (Doona) Johnson; Grandmother Cynthia Jackson; Brothers: Brandon Height, Malik Height; Sisters: Shaquel Johnson, Takiya Height, Deasia Height, Samiya Height; Aunt, Tonya Height; Uncles, Great Uncles and Aunts; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and so many close Friends from throughout his life
