Tagi Jamal Williams

Tagi Jamal Williams went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2022. He was born October 22, 2005, in Richmond Virginia to Gigi Shamika Booker and Tariq Jamal Williams. Tagi grew up in the Northside of Henrico County. He attended Laburnum Elementary School, Wilder Middle School and Henrico High School. As a young boy, Tagi loved life itself. He enjoyed riding his bike, riding his skateboard, playing with his friends, and going to the park with his grandmother and sisters. Tagi was a true fan of humor at an early age, as he enjoyed playing jokes amongst his friends and family. During his younger years, Tagi became interested in sports and outdoor activities. He joined a recreational football team, called the Saints, and became a member of the Boy Scout's troop 508. As he grew over the years, Tagi became so big in size that he surpassed his older brother. He had a "healthy" appetite and loved to eat! Tagi fell in love with basketball when he became a pre-teen. He would always go to his Uncle Stephen's basketball games and enjoyed picking up basketball techniques from him at the court. Tagi also grew a strong passion for video games. Whether he was playing a PlayStation or Xbox, Tagi would stay up all night and play video games with his best friend, Te11y, also known as "Ham". Tagi maintained his adventurous and charismatic nature throughout the years. He enjoyed fun activities such as roller-skating, playing at the arcade, and jumping around at trampoline parks. When he entered his teenage years, Tagi's focus on basketball shifted to football. He joined the football team in middle school at L. Douglas Wilder. After finishing his years at Wilder, Tagi went on to join the Henrico Warriors varsity football team as a freshman. Tagi was also naturally creative. From making his own songs to designing his own clothes, he was a young man of many talents. Tagi was his mother's first-born, only son, and her prince. He loved to spend time with his grandmother, "Nana", and his grandfather, "Momo". Tagi absolutely adored his ·uncles, Dawud and Stephen. He was a lovable big brother to his four younger sisters; he loved each of them in his own special way. Tagi was a respectful young man with values and principles. He was always very headstrong and a protector for his friends and family. For the past summers, Tagi exhibited ambition and drive through working at Kings Dominion, attending football practice, and working alongside his father installing hardwood floors and sanding floors. Tagi was truly adored by his family and friends. He was our diamond in the rough - a solid, handsome, young man with so much potential. Tagi's aura would light up any room he walked into. To know him, was to love him. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mary Booker, and his great uncle, Elliot (Pete) Davis. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Gigi Booker, and his father, Tariq Williams; one brother, Amir Williams; his best-friend, (like a "brother") Terry "Ham" Matthews; four sisters, Saniiya, Sajaida, Amara, and Azure; grandparents, Mittie Pollard (Stephen), Deborah Williams (Wayne) and Charles Cooley; great grandparents, Zenobia Williams and Gladys Good; great aunts, Ovia Hall, Gloria and Shirley Booker; five uncles, Stephen Booker, Dawud Brown, Charles Liles, Preston and Cameron Williams; four aunts, Lois Willis, Palma Pollard, Kiosha Pollard and Kamisha Walker; and a host of cousins, other family friends, and loved ones
