Seconious Bivens

Seconious McDonald Bivens fell asleep in death late Friday evening, at Johns Hopkins on May 14, 2004. He was born in Turners Station Maryland to Seconious and Hattie Bivens on December 10, 1963. Family values and togetherness were paramount in his life. His love for his grandparents was obvious throughout his life and a joy to them.Cecil as he was popularly known, attended a public school in Baltimore County where he mastered the skills of a trained saxophonist. The trade school of choice was Mergenthaler High School where he chose Commercial Baking as a vocation. He graduated from there in 1982. He was employed at Ms. Desserts for many years as a Primo Baker and in 1984 received the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade Award for Excellence and Dedication in Production. From there he worked at Crispy Bagel, Italian Stallion, and the Great Cookie. He was known by such pet names as Top, and Lil Cecil. He was affectionately called Mac by a devoted friend of seventeen years.His favorite sport was Basketball. The Ravens were his favorite Football team. He enjoyed the music of Sting, 2 Pac, Prince and Frank Sinatra as of late. His love of reading made him a joy to talk to and he could hold a conversation with people of all walks of life. Some even referred to him as a “walking newspaper." Cecil was loving, kind, considerate, generous and a big hearted person who loved children and made friends wherever he went including his residencies at Stop and Surrender in Philadelphia and Right Turn of Baltimore.Cecil leaves to cherish his memories: father and mother, Seconious and Hattie, two brothers, Gary Lee and Rodney Maurice; one sister, Gina Marie; one sister-in-law, Christine; one grandfather, Samuel Bivens; one grandmother, Marion Williams; one great-great aunt, Sue Henderson of New Jersey; two great uncles, Thomas and Theodore Wilborn; three uncles, Bennie L. Bivens; Willie M. Williams of Nebraska and Kevin McD. Williams; five aunts, Roberta Miles, Virginia Haskel of Texas; Barbara Holt, Betty Jones of New York and Esther Robinson of S. Carolina; three nephews, Gary Jr., Christopher and Devin along with fifteen cousins.We would like to acknowledge all whose lives were touched by Cecil, space would not permit that but YOU know who you are
