Rosemarie V. Lawson-Hawkins

In loving memory of Rose-Marie Lawson Hawkins, who was born on December 4th, 1952, and was called home by God on April 3, 2024, after bravely battling a lengthy illness. Rose was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Raised in Bronx, NY, Rose graduated from Walton High School then soon moved to Long Island, New York. She began working at Osrowe where she met and fell in love with her devoted husband of 44 years John Bernard Hawkins Jr. Rose was a dedicated employee, and worked tirelessly. She worked as a manager at Hydrone for 10 years then worked at Polypack for almost 20 years leading up to her sickness. Rose found joy in assisting others and making a positive impact through her work. Rose's passion for baking and cooking brought joy to those around her. Her specialty in creating intricate chocolate houses and the Last Supper out of chocolate showcased her creativity and love for the culinary arts. She was also known for her delicious Italian dishes, especially her famous lasagna and stuffed peppers, which brought her family together around the dinner table. In her leisure time, Rose enjoyed friendly competition and cherished moments with her family. Whether it was playing games like Bingo, Pachino, and UNO, or sharing laughter while watching her favorite game shows and soap operas, she found happiness in the company of her loved ones. Rose is precedent in death by: Her mother Gladys Lawson, her mother and father in law Elsie and John Bernard Hawkins Sr., her uncles in law: Joseph Lee and wife Maddie, Elma Lee and wife Pearl, her brothers in law: Alfred Hawkins, and Ivan “Bunnie” Hawkins. She leaves to mourn: Her loving husband, her sister Carol Rivera, sister in laws: Norma Bailey, and Ruth Copeland, her brother in law Ernest Hawkins, her son John Bernard Hawkins 3rd and wife Nicole Hawkins , her grandkids: John Bernard Hawkins 4th and wife Nicole Hawkins, Raven Parker and husband Anthony Parker, Skye Hawkins, her great-grands: Faith Hawkins and Jaleel Hawkins, her great- great grands: Isabella and Asher Parker and a large tribe of nieces and nephews who meant the world to her, who she loved very very much. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rose-Marie Lawson Hawkins will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and the countless cherished memories she created with her family and friends.
