Michael L. Jones

Michael Lawrence Jones, son of Robert & Ellen Jones, was born on October 12, 1946. He peacefully departed this life surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Baltimore, Maryland on October 10, 2016. In Michael's youth, he and siblings attended Grace Gospel Baptist Church where he gave his life to Jesus Christ early in life, accepting him as Lord & Savior. Michael also sang in the choir. When he relocated to Maryland, he continued as a faithful servant under the teachings of Rev. Carl Washington Sr. at Timothy Christian Baptist Church, later transferring membership to Lifeline Outreach Ministries in Randallstown Maryland. Michael was educated in the New York City Public School System. He attended Bronx Vocational High School where he studied in the Automotive Department. Following, Michael enlisted with the United States Air Force where he received a certificate in Auto Mechanics & Repair. Honorably discharged from the service, Michael; returned home & enrolled at Bronx Community College. Michael married Bernice Dickerson and they had 3 children; Michael II, Tanya & Rhondesia. To support his family, he went to work for the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ. Daddy also worked as an independent cab driver, famously known for his car # 006 and the signature horn melody that played "Here Comes the Bride". Everyone on the block knew when our father was home because he would beep that horn. In Baltimore, Michael attended Prologue Inc., taking a computer technologies course. He ministered & inspired countless people there who so affectionately called him "Mr. Mike". Very social & positive, Mr. Mike was loved by all he came in contact with, but most of all, Larry loved his family. All his sisters, all his nieces, all his nephews and his children. His smile radiated the warmth & the love. Michael is preceded in death by his father Robert Jones Sr., mother Ellen Jones-Pryce, brothers Robert, Walter & Gerald. He leaves to treasure his memory son Michael Lawrence Jones II, daughters Tanya Lynn Marie Jones-Wilson & Rhondesia Anne Jones, son-in-law Jamaal Hasan Wilson & Timothy S. Alleyne, grandchildren Chelsey, Quincey, Amir & Kyrie and a great granddaughter Christine Elizabeth. Sisters Anne Howard, Min. Ellen Jones, Evg. Avis Jones, Rev. Stephanie Stewart, Aishah Ali & a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
