Maurice Lucas

Maurice Eugene Lucas, affectionately known as “Chief O,” was carried away by Angels to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Chief O was a loving guy, a caring father, a brother, grandfather and a wonderful friend to all. Chief O was born on October 5, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland to Melvin Lucas and Barbara Moore ( who preceded him in death). God blessed him with three sons Maurice E. Biles, Tavon C. Biles and Maurice Lucas, Jr. Chief “O” graduated from Baltimore City Public School system 1981. He furthered his education by attending Baltimore City Community College, The Culinary School. He worked for Hopkins Fuel Trucking Company. He obtained his CDL Truck Driver License which gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the United States. He was a Professional Truck Driver at heart in his eyes and he wanted everyone to know it. The joke among the family was “HOW IN THE WORLD DID HE GET THE CDL? Chief “O” was a great Grill Master and had a hard time watching others cook without his assistance. His Grill he affectionately called THE MAVERICK was his hobby and his passion. He loved to roll that grill throughout the community grilling for “Lodde, Doddie and everybody”. He loved watching movies with family and friends, especially karate movies and any Food Channel Network. Chief “O” loved to play ruff-housing with his grandchildren and especially his granddaughters that he had more of. Despite what most might think of him he was a dotting grandfather. His grandchildren were his life. His grandchildren's happiness gave him reason to live. He was an avid music lover and sang his version of every song on the radio. He was a very outgoing and fun loving person. If you met him you would instantly love. Chief “O” never met a stranger. Chief “O” leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted friend Michelle, three sons, Maurice E. Biles, Tavon C. Biles and Maurice Lucus, Jr.; two brothers, Jimmy Moore and Anthony Starks. Three nieces and two nephews, and three great-nieces, eight Grandchildren, his sister Janice Lucas and mother Barbara Moore preceded him in death.
