Kieshawna Latrice Neal

Our dear beloved KIESHAWNA LATRICE NEAL, affectionately known to us as “Cookie”, was born on December 28, 1988 in Baltimore, MD. Cookie was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 23, 2024 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Cookie was the only child to Algina Bruce and Gregory Neal. Cookie started her early education in Baltimore City Schools and continued her education in Baltimore County Public Schools, graduating from Chesapeake High School in 2006. She graduated from Coppin State University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice in 2010. Cookie excelled in all of her studies and remained on the Dean’s List throughout her tenure at Coppin State University. She furthered her education by enrolling in the nursing program at the University of Notre Dame. Cookie was inspired to become a registered nurse to help others the way she was once helped. She was a certified microblading artist with a love and passion for make-up, fashion, and skin care. Cookie took pride in perfecting her craft by continuously refining her skills. Cookie was employed at the Maryland Live Casino, where she worked as Professional Card Dealer, until her illness. Cookie gave her life to Christ September 17, 2006 at True Fellowship Church of God and Christ, under the leadership of the late Elder Winston Jones. She continued her spiritual walk under the leadership of Elder Morris Whitfield. Cookie drew her strength through her relationship with God, leaning on him through her trials and triumphs. Cookie was an avid reader, enjoying mysteries. She also enjoyed watching movies, with her favorite being Crooklyn. Her favorite shows to watch were Murder Mysteries such as First 48 and ID. Cookie absolutely loved to travel with family and friends. She truly enjoyed gathering with family on daily basis. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, especially when surrounded by family. Family was everything to her. She loved music and enjoyed going to concerts, as well. Cookie’s pride and joy was the birth of her daughter, Mariah. Mariah was born March 3, 2016. There wasn’t a day that Cookie didn’t cherish the love and time spent with her daughter. Cookie and Mariah spent their days in love and laughter. They shopped, played in make-up, and went to Dave and Busters! There was never a dull moment. Cookie embodied the true meaning of a loving and nurturing mother. Cookie leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Algina Bruce; father, Gregory Neal; daughter, Mariah; Mariah’s father, Marcus; three sisters, Tyreese, Jaden, Danyielle; her grandparents, Carolette and Larry Owens, Barbara Townes, (the late Thomas Townes) and (the late grandparents Robert and Annie Neal);twelve uncles, Willie, Antwan, Andre, Kevin, and (the late Reginald Gray), Stephen, Julius, Freddie Sr., Eddie Sr., Marquis, and (the late Darnell Neal); six aunts, Shenell, Audrey, and (the late Wilette Bruce), Josephine, Diana, and (the late Ernestine and Christine Neal); a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; her best friend, Nellie; along with friends from previous jobs; her beloved cat, Bella and her dog, Cuddle
