Joseph McLeod

Joseph M. McLeod the son of Alonzo and Ardelia McLeod was born on January 20, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was known by his family and friends as Joe. He departed his life on October 27, 2020 with his family by his side until the Lord called him home. He gave his life on October 27, 2020 with his family by his side until the Lord called him home. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Shiloh Baptist Church by the late Dr. Harold A. Carter Sr. Joseph received his education in the Baltimore City School Systems and later received degrees at Dundalk Community College. During his journey he was introduced to Brenda through a mutual family friend and was united in holy matrimony on August 20, 1965. From this union came five children, Anthony McLeod Sr (deceased), Toria McLeod Perry, Derrick McLeod Sr, Rodney McLeod & Karen McLeod. He began an entry level career at W.R. Grace Chemical Plant and worked his way to Maintenance Foreman. He retired after 48 years of service as Supervisor on May 2011. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and traveling. He would cook on the grill and would gather family together every holiday to celebrate life. He devoted his self to New Shiloh and became an usher until becoming a Deacon which gave him more responsibilities such as servicing the sick and shut ins along with Paster's Partners. During his brief illness he continued to serve the Lord by doing communion with Brenda at home. He leavers in his memory his devoted wife Brenda McLeod, Anthony McLeod Sr (deceased), Toria McLeod Perry, Derrick McLeod Sr, Rodney McLeod and Karen McLeod, grandchildren Erica McLeod, Anthony McLeod Jr., Derrick McLeod Jr., Donovan Thomas, two great grandchildren, Anthony McLeod III, Paris Bailey, Magaline Jones, Christine Arrington, Alonzo McLeod Jr, (deceased), Edith Baines, Preston McLeod Sr., Priscilla Gilliam (deceased). In laws, Dr. Henry T. Baines, Henry Gilliam and Wadell Williams Jr. stepdaughter, Devona Smith and LaRhonda Owens. Uncle, Eddie D. McLeod, aunts, Willie Mae Mcelheney and Mary Lee Stubbs of Bennettsville, SC. Devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
