Jean Feldman

On August 1, 2023, our beloved angel JEAN FELDMAN, 85, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior. JEAN FELDMAN was born on September 15, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Joseph Lamma and Viola Green. She was the youngest of 8 children. Frederick, Dave, Joseph, Pearl, Goldie, Ruth, and Shirley preceded her to glory. Jean received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. During her teen years, she met her friend and love of her life, the late Levi Feldman, whom she later married. Out of this union, 4 children were born, Steve, Andre, Vanessa and Christina. She was a master homemaker, loving wife and mother who took pride in caring for her husband and children. She loved all her family, but had a special favor for the boys of the family. She would often say, “You can keep the girls, give me my boys.” She gave herself wholeheartedly. Her home was home to everyone. She had a heart for people and never rejected or judged anyone. If you needed somewhere to stay, she opened her door. If you were in financial need, she gave. If you needed a meal, she provided and fed you. She was a great cook. Her specialties were potato salad, fried chicken and caramel cake. If you needed someone to talk to, she listened and gave great advice. So many all over East Baltimore knew Jean. Many called her Mama Jean. ftey loved her and she loved them right back. In the late 1980s, Jean and her daughter, Christina, were baptized on the same day by Rev. Ralph White at fte New Friendship Baptist Church on Eager Street. Jean had a personal relationship with God and would seek Him in prayer, often saying, “fte Lord got me, it is because of Him that I’m able to go through.” She had a feisty but loving spirit with a quick wit. She was down to earth and kept it real. During her younger adult years, she loved sewing, a liking she shared with her niece Esther. She was very lively and full of joy. Friends and family would gravitate to her home for fun times. She loved listening to her “Oldie But Goodies” and dancing. Her favorite songs were Etta James “At Last”, Otis Redding “ftese Arms of Mine”, and the O’Jays “Use Ta Be My Girl”. She was best entertained when relaxing in her recliner chair, watching her westerns, drinking her Diet Pepsi, and snacking on a piece of pound cake. She leaves to cherish her memories and to carry out her legacy: daughter, Christina; step-son, Steven (Chucky); grandchildren, Levi (Squeaky), Naiiwones, Natashia, Steven, Pia and Vanessa (Neysha); grandsons-in-law, ftermon and Marques; fourteen great-grandchildren, Levi Jr, Quoshay, Derrick, Quavel, Ni’Sean, De’Sean, Zachary, Taylor, Madison, Saniyah, Chrissy, Alana, Isis, Londyn; one great-great-grandchild, Sammi; a special son, Walter; a close niece, Michelle; a close nephew, Tyrone; a best friend, Margaret; one god-daughter, Jeannie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
