Harry was a loyal and kind friend, great baker, extraordinary graphic artist and confidant who had a passion for details and who loved his family and friends. Through his culinary craft, he developed a reputation from colleagues, associates and friends as a phenomenal baker.

Our paralleling education in the Arts quickly established our friendship.

Since I'm a classically trained musician, he seldom missed an opportunity to attend my concerts in Rockville, Md. I always looked forward to his post-concert critique when he shared his favorite selections.

Weekly he shared the challenges he faced on his job, concern about his mom's deteriorating health and extreme concern about his sister's grueling work schedule and her well being. He made sure that his mom's needs were met and became concern when he was not able to fulfill his obligation. He took pride in caring for his mom and was passionate about coordinating doctor, dental, or beauty salon visits with his sister, Lynn.

Harry's weakest moments were sitting in traffic, waiting for a procrastinated response from a prospective client or simply because " you" were taking too long. My retort would always be, "Rome was not built in one day; patience, please!"

His compassion and love for his family and his friends will be missed immensely because he ALWAYS placed others before himself. One can learn from his humility!

I am very saddened by Harry's sudden departure, but I look forward to the day when we will meet in Heaven!

    May he rest in peace.

    Sincerely,

    Larry A. Sprauve

Harry, I was stunned when I received word that you had abruptly left us. Brother and friend, you will be solely missed. I will miss your piercing eyes, your awesome smile, your professional demeanor, your awesome strawberry shortcake, lol, and most of all your authentic friendship. Thank you for all the great times we shared when we were much younger and the many laughs we had during our earlier years. May you rest in God's love and eternal peace, my good friend. Until we meet again on the other shore. Love ya!

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

    William Ernest Henley

The "Brotherhood" will not be the same without you.

Harry was like a brother, he and I, along with several other fellow brothers in the Church shared a very special bond. We considered ourselves an sub-group of the Men's League. We dined together, travel together, and just gathered at each other's home and shared experiences and problems. Harry will always be remembered for his contribution of desserts and other delights at these meetings.

The "Brotherhood" will miss our dear brother; we understand that he is now resting peacefully in the hands of the Lord.

    Goodbye Brother,
