David Lee Evans, Jr.

DAVID LEE EVANS , son of Loretta Evans and the late David Lee Evans Sr., was born in January 6, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was called to God's Kingdom suddenly on July 8, 2015. David Lee Evans graduated from Dunbar High School, top of his class. He attended Rock Hurst University Continuing Education Center and The Johns Hopkins Medical Institution Corporate Security Services , where he was employed for over 20 years. Many knew him as “Uncle Dave” a.k.a “The Grill Master”. He would put the finest chef to shame. David had a passion for cooking and grilling. He enjoyed putting a smile on your face through your stomach. He had several jobs as a young man, up until his last days. He was an entrepreneur; he had various lawn care, hauling and moving services. David was always working and smiling. If you knew him, he would offer you the shirt off of his back. He was a very loving and devoted son, brother, and friend to all. Most importantly, “The World Most Famous Dad”. He cared for his one and only daughter and granddaughter so much. He always wanted to lend a helping hand where ever he went. David had a very friendly, energetic, and a peaceful soul. He was the peacemaker, when it came to family and friends. He had a caring heart and knew how to care for others, he was the backbone for his family. They knew who to call on for advice and other matters. David had a strong passion for sports. He loved all kinds, especially football. The love of sports made him a high profile referee. He became a referee for basketball, football and dodge ball . He was a referee for 13 years, with his knowledge and compassion for these sports. Many players looked up to him; David was a father figure to many young men. He was the perfect male role model for the youth. He was a man of God, and a man of his word. If he made a promise or said that he was going to do something, believe it, his word was his bond. David worked hard at whatever he set out to do. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and shopping. David would set the scene straight, with the true meaning of the song lyrics, “ I'm a classic man, you can be mean, when you look this clean.” he loved to dress to impress, with his positive attributes to life. David was an amazing person who enjoyed his days on earth. One brother Roger who preceded him in death. David Lee Evans leaves to follow in his footsteps: one daughter, Dashawn Matthews; step daughter, Tiara Reeves; stepson, Devin Matthews; one granddaughter, Davay Matthews; his mother, Loretta Evans; six sisters, Patricia, Angie, Joyce, Carol, Pamela, Karen Wade; two brothers, Bryan and Mike; two close friends, Melody Matthews and Anissa Randolph; and a host of nieces and nephews, close relatives and friends.
