Damion Lamont West

Our beloved Damión Lamont West, Sr. was born September 20, 1980 in Richmond, Virginia to Patricia Ann West-Blowe and Vance Williams. He was granted his angel wings on July 9, 2009, at the age of 28. He was preceded in death by his very good friend, Larry “Taz” Jones Jr. Damión was educated in the Henrico County Public School System and graduated from Virginia Randolph High School in 1999, earning a certificate in bricklaying. He earned plaques and trophies in basketball, football and dancing. Damión was a very caring, compassionate, and supportive person who loved having fun with his family and friends. A dedicated father, he cherished every moment spent with his children. Damión was baptized at an early age and was a member of The Temple of Judah Apostolic Church. He was employed with American Security Group and was an avid music lover. Damión leaves to cherish his memory, two loving children, Master Damión Lamont West Jr. and DéAire Cinek Cockrell; loving and devoted parents, Patricia Ann West-Blowe and Jodie Lamont Blowe; biological father, Vance Williams; loving and devoted grandmother, Constance Y. Powell; paternal grandmother, Naomi Williams; grandparents, Doris A. Batts and Jodie Blowe Jr. (Shirley); brother, Anthony Lamont Blowe; three sisters, Kiyafia Harvey, LaSheene Beaver and Markesha Bennett; two god-mothers, Annie Robinson and Janet Atkins; two god-brothers, Lance Atkins and James Bailey Jr.; two god-sisters, Lashawnda Atkins and Kennethia (Lisa) Merritt; three uncles, Aldrey Williams, Demetrius Blowe (Tamara) and Michael Rawlings; six aunts, Veverly Stone, Karen Williams, Antonia Williams, Christal Blowe-Cates (Joe), Monica Deberry (Brian) and Sonya Broady (Vernon); two great-uncles, William L. Powell and Edward Powell; three great-aunts, Golden Tregre (Wilfred), Annie R. Johnson (James) and Rosalyn L. Huckaby; extended family including a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends; two special cousins, Desmond Darryl Higgs and Antonio (Tony) Harrison. He was blessed with a “second mother”, Michelle Jackson and a “second dad”, Wayland Huckaby Sr. Special acknowledgement of his family-to-be, Darrell Taylor, Rena Hawkins, Tiffany Taylor and JaVaire Rich.
