Daisy Stanford

Mama was born to both the late Richard Sewell and Aleathea Sewell on September 16, 1933 in Stevensville, Maryland in Queen Anne County.Daisy was educated at Love Point Elementary School in Stevensville, Maryland. She furthered her education at Kenard High School in Centerville, Maryland. Daisy was a hard worker with many talents, mainly the gift of love, laughter and compassion. She was a woman who proved that “walking by faith” is no mistake! On May 29, 1952, she was married to the late Addison Harry Stanford Jr. in Denton, Maryland. From this union, seven children were born, Harry, Richard, Sheila, Shelba, Gary and Melvin and Addison who preceded their parents in death. In 1957, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland.Mama drove a cab from 1965 to 1973. Late August 1973, she became a school bus driver with Baltimore City Public Schools. In 1969, Mama accepted Christ as her personal Savior! She later joined a Holiness Church, Refuge Deliverance Pentecostal. After 15 years, God led her to the New Psalmist Baptist Church, then located at Franklin and Cathedral Street where the awesome Dr. Walter Scott Thomas Jr. pastored. Mama began to studiously get into God’s Word and attending many classes at New Psalmist where God equipped her to do his work. Mama loved Evangelizing, winning souls for Christ everywhere she went. She joined Outreach Ministries Rhema, prison, nursing and whatever she could do for God to get the glory out of her life!She was a very pleasant, fun loving and comical person, always smiling, sharing joyous laughter and lots of love to the very day of her going home with Jesus.Mama loved her family unselfishly, as well as her church family. There are many friends that will mourn her passing. Mama was survived by five children; eight grandchildren, Shajuane, Richard II, Stacie, Harry II, Shelba, Sheba, Desarie and Gary II; five great grandchildren, Myshawne’, Jazmine, Princess, Parris and Carier. Mama had a host of nieces, great nieces, cousins, nephews, godchildren and special friends, Minister Rodney Smalls a.k.a. Prayer Partner, Minister Colbert a.k.a. Son, her sister Odeata, Mr. Robert and Corneilus Brown and many more.
