Cynthia Eloise Shearrill

On Friday, September 11, 2020 CYNTHIA ELOISE SHEARRILL was called home by our Heavenly Father. Cindy, the fifth child, amongst seven, born to the late Samuel Leo and Alva Dutton, was born on August 25, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. Cindy loved the Lord and was strong in her faith. She was raised in the church and accepted Christ in her youth. She attended weekly Sunday service with her family at Ebenezer Baptist Church while growing up and later joined Mount Zion Hill Baptist Church, along with her family, as an adult. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Cindy was a well known Northern High School Viking. She graduated from Northern High School in 1978. Soon after, she began her career as a pharmacy technician at East Baltimore Medical Center. She had a natural kindness and passion for helping others which was evident throughout the many years of her pharmacy career. Cindy met her late husband, Philip Shearrill Jr., at Baltimore's Inner Harbor and later married him on September 7, 1985. Philip and Cindy spent a short time during the early years of their marriage living in Texas where Philip served in the military. Upon returning to Maryland they eventually welcomed a daughter, Christina, and son, Philip III. Cindy was a doting wife and mother, She cared for her husband and children with her entire being while always extending herself to family and friends without question. Cindy was loyal, graceful, and kind. She enjoyed family gatherings and her laugh was contagious. She prided herself on cooking delicious meals and desserts. She found joy in baking cakes, People raved over her made from scratch "Sock It To Me" and "Seven Up" recipe. Her specialty cakes eventually became highly requested and she began selling cakes, by the dozens, during holiday time and throughout the year. Every cake was baked and boxed with love!. Though not physically able, Cindy spoke of baking a cake in her final days. Cindy will remain one of the favorite aunts, best sister, special cousin, and amazing lifelong friend to many. Her dedication and willingness to serve others, cheerful personality, and caring demeanor will be deeply missed. She leaves to treasure special memories: one daughter, Christina Shearrill; one son, Philip Shearrill III; step-son, Dwayne Jefferson; brother, Leo Dutton; three sisters, Darlene, Crystal, and Jacqueline; three sisters-in-law, Vendetta Dutton, Michelle Harvey, and Verneice Shearrill; three brothers-in-law, Von Wiggins and Mark Anderson, and Mark Shearrill; three grandchildren. Kimora, Fatima, and Yasin; three aunts, Patricia Sample, Deborah Godwin and Viola Wilson; three uncles, Earl and Leonard Taylor and Rev. Douglas Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip; brother, Donald and sister, Theresa.
