Clarence Jackson

On Resurrection Sunday, April 11, 2004 at 7:00 a.m. God called Clarence H. Jackson Sr., to eternal rest. He was born on December 28, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the sixth of eleven children born to the late Howard and Hattie Jackson.He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Clarence accepted Christ at an early age and attended the Ebenezer Baptist Church.Clarence was joined in holy matrimony to Bernice E. Johnson on October 10, 1942. They were blessed with three children, Brenda, Clarence Jr. and Lawrence.Clarence was always an industrious person, he really enjoyed working. He worked without tiring. He especially enjoyed being employed at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He worked there for over thirty years, without missing a day. He retired when the plant on Kirk Avenue closed in 1981.Clarence enjoyed his retirement for many years. He still kept himself busy being a painter, carpenter, etc. He enjoyed life to the fullest.Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was truly a family man who gave his all. He encouraged and helped everyone with all his or her endeavors. He was generous, his love was unconditional and he was firm.Clarence enjoyed his family, they engaged in many family activities, picnics, barbecues and various holiday social gatherings. He loved to participate in and observe various sporting events; baseball, football, boxing and wrestling were his favorites. Fishing and crabbing also brought him much pleasure. Clarence also enjoyed cooking delicious meals for his family. He was jovial person who loved to laugh. His laughter lifted everyone’s spirit and was vibrantly heard wherever he was. Clarence will be remembered for his kindness; he was always willing to help people. He had many friends and will be greatly missed by all.One son, Clarence Jr. and thee brothers, George, Albert and Ernest; five sisters, Gertrude, Hortense, Dorothy, Ernestine and Gladys preceded him in death. His memory will be cherished by a loving and devoted wife, Bernice E. Jackson; a loving and devoted daughter, Brenda J. Wilson; a loving and devoted son, Lawrence E. Jackson Sr.; a devoted son-in-law, William M. Wilson Sr.; a devoted daughter-in-law, Edna P. Jackson; two devoted sisters, Hattie Martin and Peggy Robinson; a devoted brother-in-law, Norman Robinson; five devoted grandson, Clarence H. Jackson II, Lawrence E. Jackson, Keith E. Jackson, Lamont H. Jackson Sr. and Ryan G. Wilson; a devoted granddaughter, Jocelyn R. Wallace eleven great-grandchildren; two devoted sisters-in-law, Lillie Carter and Lelia Harrison; twenty nieces, fifteen nephews, and a grand host of other relatives and friends
