Clarence Charles Butler

CLARENCE WILSON BUTLER, son of the late Doris Elizabeth Eley and Iaace Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, was born on November 17, 1945. He entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2013 from a heart attack while doing some home cleaning. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Clarence was a very likeable person who would help and talk to anyone. Clarence had many talents, which helped him to learn many different job skills. Clarence, who was known as “B.C.” loved his family to the fullest, he would give all of them nicknames in which they all would answer to. For a lifetime, from his calling, Clarence loved all of his nieces and nephews, but the oldest ones were his sidekicks. Clarence resided with his sister Moody, whom he would always never see eye to eye on making decisions about his doctors appointments and receiving his medication, because as Clarence would say, “Moody, you think you are a professional nurse?” Clarence, whom had a great deal of love for his mother, would often sit and look at her pictures and say, “Mom, I love and miss you deeply, but we will meet again someday.” Clarence leaves to cherish fond memories: seven of eleven daughters, in which we came in contact with, Towanda Butler “Boog,” Crystal Taylor “Peaches,” Twiggy and Twinkle Timons, Yolanda Mance “Sug,” Gwen Butler and Erainea Butler; a host of grandchildren; five sisters, Brenda Smoot “Lump,” Evelyn, Shirley, Julia “Moody” and Gloria Smoot “Fat Mama;” three brothers, Melvin Eley “Rochester,” Dale and Robert Smoot; eight aunts, Eunice Edwards, Audrey Stokes, Shirley Smoot-Johnson, Doris “Sis,” Marlene, Delores, Audrey and Geraldine Smoot; six uncles, Thomas, James, Wilbert, Nathaniel, Anthony “Tony” and Victor Smoot; sister-in-law, Cynthia Eley; his godmother, Juanita “Juani;” a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by: his daughter, “Puddy;” three brothers, John Eley, Eric and Michael Smoot; two aunts, Bernice Salliey and Delores Stokes; five uncles, Charles Butler “June Bug,” Leon Lopaz “Snooky,” Leroy and Michael Smoot and Milton Johnson; a special lady friend, Rose Brown, who all preceded him in death. When you can’t run anymore, you crawl, When you can’t crawl anymore, you just lay down. And wait for someone to pick you up, and take you home to be with the Lord. Sister, “Nurse Moody”
