Calvin Davis

Mr. Calvin Davis was born on April 1, 1958, in Richmond,Virginia. He entered into eternal rest on July 29, 2023, surrounded by his devoted wife, family, and friends on his 11th wedding anniversary. Calvin attended Richmond Public Schools and was a graduate of John Marshall High School in June 1977. After graduating ,Calvin worked hard to cultivate his culinary skills,serving as a chef before deciding to enlist in the United States Army. He concluded his military service as Staff Sergeant after nine years of deployment abroad. Calvin lived a life filled with purpose. After serving in the military, he settled in Caroline County,Virginia to pursue a career in security. He began his career with dominion Energy at North Anna Nuclear Plant. Calvin served in various positions throughout his 28 years tenure with Dominion Energy,retiring as the Manager of Corporate Security,Business Continuity and Emergency Planning. Calvin was admired by his fellow colleagues for his humorous disposition and vigar for life. In addition to a robust career at Dominion , Calvin enjoyed the challenge of lifetime entrepreneurship and community service. Calvin managed a detailing and gold plating business as well as an irrigation business before launching Tyler Automotive Sales in 2012. Calvin helped many in the Greater Richmond Metro Area start their own business and find reliable transportation through purchasing affordable vehicles through his car dealership. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. On July 29, 2012 in Smithfield, Virginia. Calvin joined in holy matrimony with Francesca Leigh-Davis. Together they shared a fond love for travel,motorcycles and international cuisine they could not pronounce. However, Calvin's greatest joy was being a loving, devoted father to Carter Leigh. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes White,grandmother,Lessie Winston,brothers,Clyde Davis,Herman Davis. and Willie Davis and sisters Shirley Williams and Betty Brown,who entered into eternal rest on July 29, 2023 as well. He is survived by his loving wife, Francesca Leight-Davis,son, Carter Leigh,sister,Linda Harrison (Jesse),and a host of nieces and nephews and lifetime friends.
