WE

| The
March family and staff not only work in Baltimore, we live in Baltimore.
We attended Baltimore schools. We go to church in Baltimore. We participate
in community activities that bring help and hope to those in need to make
Baltimore a better city in which to live. This is our home too. The problem of drugs in our community affects us all. There is no one untouched by the plague that destroys lives, whether you have addicted relatives or have been a victim of addicts crimes. We all suffer. Our billboard messages are meant to bring our attempt to solve our problem to a level of spiritual commitment not just public policy. The Mayor and police department can not stop the killing. Only we the people can stop the killing. The only way we can stop the killing is to have faith, to believe we can. But it takes more than faith. St. James wrote, Faith without works is dead. All of us must work toward a better, safer and healthier community. We must pray about it and we must vow to help somebody, work together and encourage one another. If we allow God to work through us we can do all things. Become active in your community association. If there isnt one, start one. Join your schools PTA, whether you have children there or not. Challenge your church family to take the Good News to the street. Be a mentor. Volunteer a portion of your time to your favorite charity. Spend money with black businesses. They hire black workers who might otherwise be standing on corners. If you, as African-Americans, can trust African- American funeral homes with the care of your loved ones remains, you can surely trust African-American businesses with your plumbing and electrical needs, auto and home repairs and a variety of basic services. If you think you cannot make a difference you never will. We, at March Funeral Homes believe we can. We believe you can too. |
